I am scared now. The federal government should have a Ridiculous Library Investigations Agency.

Check this out. Liberty and justice for what?

UPDATE: Fellow blogger Glock 21 posted this in the comments but I thought I would post it here. This, of course, is hilarious (in an Orwellian way) in light of the NSA domestic spying scandal all over the headlines lately.

A quote from the President:

“Secondly, there are such things as roving wiretaps. Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires — a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we’re talking about chasing down terrorists, we’re talking about getting a court order before we do so. It’s important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution.”

Sweet land of liberty, it is of thee downfall I sing.

For some reason the links on the left under ‘links’ don’t work in firefox but they are fine in IE. I think its the code for the hovering descriptions. If anyone knows what is wrong help is appreciated, (view source).

If you like that story, you’re going to love this:

Federal agents’ visit was a hoax
Student admits he lied about Mao book

Update Here

“NEW BEDFORD — The UMass Dartmouth student who claimed to have been visited by Homeland Security agents over his request for “The Little Red Book” by Mao Zedong has admitted to making up the entire story.

The 22-year-old student tearfully admitted he made the story up to his history professor, Dr. Brian Glyn Williams, and his parents, after being confronted with the inconsistencies in his account. “
