Building collapse suicide? July 10, 2006Posted by dr. gonzo in Crime, Miscellaneous.
The building collapse in New York City earlier today is intially being blamed on a distraught doctor’s suicide attempt.
The reasoning, apparently, lies in an email that the lawyer for the doctor’s wife received from the distraught man, Nicholas Bartha, indicating he was contemplating suicide. According to the above article he was going through a difficult divorce and being forced to sell the building that collapsed, a four-story one that included doctor’s offices and at least one apartment.
Seems a strange way to commit suicide. Unless you’re on a martyrdom mission, then, not so strange.
WNBC reports that the email referenced above was “rambling” and stated, “You will be transformed from gold digger to ash and rubble digger.” This, of course, is sourced anonymously due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
Could this be a case of misinformation? What do you think?
