In an attempt to post an entry I had been working on about death and the business in America surrounding death I got into a huge brawl with Internet Explorer.

Like a fool, I have been addicted to IE and downloaded their newest version, IE 7, which incorporates tabbed browsing and other features found on other browsers such as Firefox or Opera. (more…)

Flying cars anyone?

A company, Terrafugia, founded by MIT scientists, plans on building a viable flying car. Check out the story here.

Of course, depending on who you ask, it could already exist.

Finding good, free images without copyright restrictions can be trying, to say the least. You probably know what I am talking about if you have a blog or a newspaper or any published material that uses stock photography of any kind.

So I thought I would compile a short list of some of my favorites as well as a link or two to some more extensive lists that are out there. (more…)

The death of a telegram February 2, 2006

Western Union officially killed their telegram service, a technology long since declined. Used since 1851, telegrams have gone the way of typewriters. Phones, faxes, and email being the death knell for the telegram. If you try to send a telegram via their Web site you only see this message.

“Effective January 27, 2006, Western Union will discontinue all Telegram and Commercial Messaging services. We regret any inconvenience this may cause you, and we thank you for your loyal patronage. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact a customer service representative.” (more…)

Perusing ilga.gov I found the following disclaimers so I figured I better post it so everyone knows. Although, perhaps if they aren’t sure about accuracy of what they are publishing for public view maybe that should be taken into consideration prior to publishing it on an “official” governement Web site.
